Free form poetry I just
can not seem to get.
it seems like you just put words
in any order
you want.

Is there a certain rhythm?
A syllable count?
What was that form called again?
Iambic pentameter.

A simple poem
is easier to master
like a short haiku

or maybe something with a rhyme
and a more constant beat
it takes more timing and more thought
though easier to read

No matter what the format though
its all just fine by me
as long as people get the point
that's all I really need.
Just something I came up with on the spot. My first attempt at free form poetry. I tried to level out the syllables and create some sort of rhythm. It seems OK to me, but like the poem says I'm no expert on free form.

Edit: I got rid of the abrupt dashes between the types of poems. :)

so, questions!
- Was the transit from free form to haiku and haiku to rhyme scheme to abrupt?
- How WAS the free form part? Did I get it right?
- Overall was it a good poem?

I liked it very much! I thought the free form part was quite good, and I thought that the transition to haiku was perfectly placed and paced.
